Bye Bye Winslow!

Well… we’re back in SoCal now after a great, productive week in Winslow and we miss the Motor Palace already. Sadly, the tile guy wasn’t able to do the bathroom while we were there so we didn’t get to stay in the building, but we still made tons of progress.

I’ll leave you with way too many pictures of the week.

Cash RegIn between socializing, we did get work done. In addition to the paint, we got one of the doors sanded and stained, and finished the bathtub’s makeover

The bathroom just needs tile and it’s done! We’ll have black and white tile on the floor, and a white subway tile up the walls around the tub (the part we didn’t paint). It should be lovely!

CLEAR CREEK

A little over 5 miles from Winslow, there’s this…

A beautiful winding creek with nice campsites, lots of wildlife, and some dramatic red rock cliffs. We can’t wait to get our dingy out on the water and explore.7

LAKESIDE-PINETOP

I ditched out on Brian one day, and headed South-East to my parents’ place in Lakeside up in the mountains. They have a beautiful little house right on the lake where they live in the summer to escape the Phoenix heat.

MPW3ROUTE 66

We didn’t get a very early start on Saturday, nor did we make very good time coming home. It’s just too fun socializing with the people along the Route and I seriously never get tired of taking pictures along the way.

Stop in and say hi to Kevin. He’s a heck of a nice guy, and a true Route 66 enthusiast.

RT9We rolled into Orange around midnight and already can’t wait to get back on the Mother Road.

MOTHERROADIn the meantime, we’ll keep working on our projects here at home, and welcoming people into the Orange Motor Palace. Brian was able to put our new Dickies 1922 Selvedge denim to the test. After nearly a week of hard, dirty work, they still looked great.

He especially liked the handy cell phone pocket in these heritage carpenter jeans.

And of course… they are US made. If you’re interested in trying either the carpenter jeans or the traditional cut, drop us a line! 66@66motorpalace.com or call (714) 746-0467. We’re usually at the shop on the weekends.

Brian should have his pictures up soon on the 66 Motor Palace blog. Be sure to check it out!

Until next time!

Later gators!
